This data privacy policy applies to the website www.konsortium-mrna.de and describes how KIWI processes your personal data (e.g. collection, recording, storage, modification, review, use, deletion, etc.) when you visit our website and use our contact form. We also inform you about your rights as a data subject.

Purpose and legal basis

If your personal data is processed, the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) apply.

Website

Provided that your rights and freedoms are not overridden by KIWI’s legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR), we process your personal data, among other things, to enable you to use our website conveniently and securely.

Contact form

If you contact us via our contact form, the contact details you provide us with (e.g. first name, surname, email address) will be processed for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in the event that follow-up questions arise. Communication via our contact forms takes place in encrypted form.

Contact via the contact form will be transmitted to BioNTech and processed by BioNTech as consortium leader and, if necessary, forwarded to the consortium or individual consortium partners. As a result, your message and personal data will also be transmitted to the hosting provider INSPIRE ME named below and the mail providers of the consortium partners.

The legal basis for this processing is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. To do so, please contact the data protection officer using the contact details above.

If you contact us in connection with an existing contractual relationship or in a pre-contractual context, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR applies.

Data processing due to legal obligations

We will process your personal data if this is required due to our legal obligations, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c) GDPR. This also includes the disclosure of your personal data in the context of legal proceedings or legal disputes.

In addition to the above-mentioned provisions, the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telecommunications Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG) also apply.

Data transfer

Your personal data may be shared within the consortium and passed on to affiliated companies or service providers. In such cases, appropriate data processing agreements (Art. 28 GDPR) or joint controller agreements (Art. 26 GDPR) have been concluded to ensure the lawfulness of the transfer and to protect your personal data.

    You have the right to rectify incorrect or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
    You have the right to demand that we erase your personal data in certain cases.
    We will comply with your request for erasure if this does not conflict with any legal obligations or a legitimate interest in erasure.
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
    You have the right to demand that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain cases.
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
    You have the right to request that we do not transfer your data to another organization. In certain cases this does not apply.
  • Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7 No. 3 GDPR)
    If you have given us your consent to process your personal data, you can withdraw it at any time without fear of negative consequences. However, the revocation has no influence on the legality of the processing carried out up to the time of revocation.
  • Right to object to the processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
